Gamers are people too
I’ve made it clear that I’m a WoW head. I enjoy the game but more so because of the group of fellas that I game with. We’re a pretty laid back group, the majority are married with kids and so we all realize family comes first. I suppose it’s not too different from “bowling night” or “meeting the guys at the bar” with the exception that we’re home where our spouses can typically roust us for that last minute “honey do.”
Recently once of the guys (we shall use his handle Beet) logged on to find the majority of his equipment and inventory missing from several of his toons. Of course the first thought was that his account was hacked so immediately Beet submits an in-game GM request. Beet gives the GM the particulars after close to an hour of waiting. It’s Friiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiday!
I’ve been playing far too much WoW, addicted is the term that comes to mind. I want to go home and play. I don’t have the shakes or anything like that but I can’t help thinking how I might respec my toons or level my skills. I know, it’s bad. I quit before though! Twice! Isn’t that a common thread for addicts though? I do really enjoy the game even with all it’s far too human drama. I play with friends, but sometimes I have to remind myself it’s just a game. My greatest regret is lack of sleep. If I could nap most of the day and then play all night things would work out great. Alas, real life and this job thing keep me from both. It’s probably a good thing, I’m sure the giddiness of the new expansion will wear off sooner or later.
Today is our 5th Anniversary! Time flies! Maggie got me a sweet knife which is one I had been oogling. I can’t really carry around my swiss army any more and I had been wanting some sort of multitool. Short of the pliers this has everything I wanted. We’re going to The Foundation tonight for dinner. I’m really looking forward to it. We love Okra’s the restaurant next door also owned by my friend Charles. We’ve both come a long way from cleaning carpets!
