Land of the Rising Fun

I admit an almost fervent obsession with the culture, the history, and everything else that comprises the fascination that is Nippon. If my wife were the jealous type she might be concerned. Thankfully she shares my love. Recently a colleague was overseas in Japan for business. I had expressed to him that I was jealous and my longing to spend time there. About last night

Yesterday we met our son’s homeroom teacher for the upcoming year. He was extremely kind and obviously loves what he does. He used indelible in his mission statement which is posted right outside his door. I have high hopes for this year. The boy’s resource specialist is REALLY on the ball. She’s already spoken to all his teachers about his ‘accommodations’ as she puts it. I call it forewarned is forearmed.

Afterward we went to dinner at Ashton Avenue Family Restaurant. I’ve always referred to it as a diner but that’s semantics. In the 20+ years livingĀ  in the area this is only the second time I have frequented the place and I can’t for the life of me figure out why?

The State of My Union

Man. I got a lot to write about! My anniversary dinner, gamers rights, and bumper stickers. Bumper stickers? We’ll get to that but first I gotta tell you about Foundation.

Let me start by saying that this was the most expensive dinner I’ve ever had. It came out to over $100 per person. It was well worth it though. We ate at the Chef’s Bar which is available for only two seatings a night. You get to interact with the chef and talk about the set menu for the evening.
